Ah, Sweet Husband!

Oh yes, he's doing it again! He's up to his old tricks. Fortunately for me, Husband is not tricky. He's funny and smart and very good looking, but not tricky. But what's he doing? you ask. He's doing the laundry- again! What a sweet sweet husband! :-D

It's come to my attention over the years that not all women believe this type of man is truly real, and not all men believe he is sincere in his actions. I can assure all of you that Husband is very much real (he's even pinchable!) and he's very sincere. You know what the motives are? I'll tell you his motives. The first is to show Jesus Christ through his daily life, something he does extremely well. The second is to show his love for me, his very blessed wife. :-) Boy, do I know how spoiled I am! (The answer is yes for those of you wondering.)

Anyway, I apologize to those of you sick of the lovey dovey mush oozing out of my fingers onto the keyboard, but you'll just have to either get used to it or find a more entertaining website. I'd recommend one of my closest friends' blogs, but she's just as in love with her husband as I am with mine. You're just out of luck! Until next time...

How To Fall Asleep After Having So Much Fun With Friends

So we finally found out what's been wrong with me. Yep, the whole time we thought I had Mono, I've actually had Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, a much more serious illness. Of course, as soon as my family found this out, I received three calls within three hours from family members asking if I was okay and hoping I was asleep, making it sound like they truly thought that all of a sudden I was at Death's door, screaming "Let me in!"

Now I don't want to make light of my family's concern, but it is pretty funny if you think about it, don't you think MVR? (wink wink- no comment necessary) Anyway, we think I must've first gotten eaten by a tick (that's how you get sick like this) at the wedding up north earlier in August, which is funny because that's not normally the place you get tick bites that make you so horribly sick (I truly am fine.). I was hanging out with Meredith last Friday and laughing because we've decided to rename the particular Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever to a new name more applicable to me: I give you my illness, Blue Ridge Mountain Non-Spotted Low- grade Fever! Isn't that a hoot? I think it's funny.

What's really funny is I always thought it was called Rocky Mountain SPIDER Fever, not Spotted Fever, and I kept explaining to the nurses and doctors that about one to two months ago I did have a spider bite on my toe. I figured doctors should know all they can to help diagnose you right? Well fortunately for me, they just looked at me in this weird, "Are you okay? You think a spider bite like the one you got is cause for this much concern?" look and continued along with their testing. Praise the Lord they caught it when they did before I got brain damage or whatever horrible "side effects" can occur with Rocky Mountain SPOTTED Fever.

To celebrate (and mostly to just have a good time), we stayed up until three in the morning last night having a board game marathon/ slumber party with John and Meredith. Sadly for us all, I started feeling bad and also got sleepy (big bummer). I was very much sad that it didn't last all night as originally planned, but what fun we did have while it lasted! I now know how to play $25,000 Pyramid, that Elm trees are so good for you that that's the tree we'll try to plant in our future yard, and that Mrs. Peacock was in the Library with the lead pipe! (She's going down, I tell ya!)

So now I should be back on the mend and back to my usual celebration of Fall and the upcoming Thanksgiving and Christmas season! Speaking of... two more family members RSVPed for Thanksgiving dinner today- Yippee!

How Time Flies!

Our best friends' adorable (cutest ever!) baby boy is about to be a whole one year old (old? ha!). I just found out he walked to both his parents for the first time today! Now, I don't have kids myself (and for those wondering, not any time soon either) but I was so excited for that family that I think I can imagine a little part of how that must feel.

Li'l C, as Husband once referred to the baby (his ghetto name, though we never call him that), is not going to be so little much longer. Disclaimer: He's perfect in every way. :-) It's fascinating to me how fast little babies grow. I remember (apparently a year ago though it feels shorter obviously) when Baby was just born! He was so tiny and cute! Now he's walking and still so cute... just me rambling crazy thoughts about how fast time goes when you're seeing time pass as a child growing up.

I don't know how time can possibly get any faster, but I've been told it will happen. I guess I better get a move on then, getting all the stuff on my to- do list done before I run out of time!

It's Beginning To Feel A Lot Like Fall!

Yay! It's cold outside! I am so excited because Fall all the way through Christmas is my absolute favorite time of year. I realize I have said this to you before, however I felt it necessary to repeat myself now that it actually feels like Autumn outside. Granted, this won't last past 11:00 this morning, but I'm taking whatever I can get.

FYI, the first day of Fall is tomorrow! Yippee! What's really funny is my husband finally let me decorate our house for Fall this past weekend. The problem? I only had about two things that qualified as Fall decorations. The rest was all for Christmas plus about four Thanksgiving placemats. I tried to talk Husband into going Fall decorations shopping all weekend. Pretty lame aren't I?

Oh well, at least it's finally here! Now I'm in a Christmas baking mood... hmm, maybe I can find a recipe in with my Christmas decorations. "Oh Honey! Don't you think it's time to start decorating for Christmas?"

A Real Man

I love my husband. I still haven't felt very well at all lately and right now he's doing all of the laundry for me without complaint (not that he would, but still...)! What a man! I love you.

The Good Life

I love my life. It's been bumpy and we've struggled several times about different things going on, but in general I love my life. I am married to the sweetest, kindest man on the planet, we live in a really nice neighborhood (considering we don't own our own home yet), and our best friends live less than a mile away (or exactly a mile away depending on which street you turn onto). :-)

I won't ramble on and on (as I am prone to do), but take a moment to enjoy the blessings in your life. Even if everything seems to be going wrong, just think about it-- think as long as you need to, but enjoy the good things in life that God has given you simply because He loves you.

Also, be excited for me because my uncle is coming from LA to visit for the week and I can't wait until Sunday to see him! Yippee! I haven't seen him for quite a while now, and it's gonna be fun seeing everyone "fight" for his attention! I have my boxing gloves on! Haha, just kidding!

Nothing beats a little TLC!

So, I've been feeling not so well for a while. Husband has been very supportive of my need to rest all weekend, so I've been pampered and well loved for the past few days (My weekends begin on Thursday nights-- I have Fridays off.). While I love my job, unfortunately I must return to it tomorrow.

I love the people I work with, don't get me wrong, but there's nothing that beats good old-fashioned TLC from your hubby to make you feel better and to make you feel cherished. He's been cooking and cleaning, watching movies of my choice, getting me chocolate and flowers, taking me out for dinners and buying me books. While he does this quite frequently even when I'm well, I thought he deserved a special "Thank you baby" for all his extra efforts this weekend.

I hope to be well on the way back to my good health soon... but in the meantime, thank you lovey. I love you!

Friends... Let's be friends... Part 2

I am soooo excited! Do you know why? Okay, I'll tell you. No, you can stop begging now. Our very best friends that live around the corner from us have been away for a week and they are coming home tomorrow! I know I'm crazy, but I'm still excited.

Although we usually only see them about once or twice a week, I usually talk to the wife of the couple (It's a married couple I'm talking about here.) on the phone or on IM throughout the week. Instead I've been driving mysteriously by the house every day, checking the mail... I'm sure somebody is watching through the curtains to be sure I'm not causing trouble for our friends. Won't those neighbors be shocked when I go inside tonight to turn the a/c back on before they come home! Haha, who has the last laugh now?! Okay I'm crazy again, sorry, momentary lapse.

Anyway, WELCOME HOME FRIENDS! We are very happy you are back! (tomorrow)

Don't spend it all in one place...

I know I haven't written in a few days. We haven't been at a crazy part of life lately which is good, but ironically enough, Husband and I have been relaxing and enjoying each other's company over the long Labor Day weekend. That's why I haven't written.

We almost never go anywhere when he has a day off because with his current job, he has no sick time, vacation days, or even holidays. Basically, he doesn't get paid if he doesn't work, which is sad if the company is closed for a holiday or something. Oh well, such is life. Back to the original train of thought (got derailed for a sec)--

This weekend we went somewhere, which, in itself is amazing for us. We went to this humongous homey store. Now I know that's nothing special to some of you, but it's the first time I've ever been and I am now in love. Yes, with a store. I've never found that much homey stuff I've wanted in one place before! We took pictures and everything (I know, we're such dorks!).

Husband and I made great decisions and did not spend us out of house and home, as the saying goes, but we had bunches of fun and got lots of new little things, very affordable things.

I can't wait to go back! I can't believe I've waited this long to go. People have told me before, "Oh, it's pretty affordable.." They trail off into nothingness with their lack of enthusiasm, so I never bought it. But oh, how right they were! Woohoo for new stores you love!

Friends... Let's be friends...

I work for the best place to work ever! I work for my church and everyone there is human. I know that's probably not what you were thinking I'd say, but it's something I feel must be mentioned up front. Just because it's a church doesn't mean everyone gets along with everyone, every event goes smoothly and everyone RSVPs by the deadline. Heck, I work here and I RSVPed late for something last week! Okay, so now that the disclaimer's done...

I just got hired permanently (instead of temporary or volunteer) and it was one of the best days I've had this year. Yep, how many of you can say that about work? I don't mean to rub it in, but I have been wanting to work here forever it seems! You must realize I worked for a bad bad company at my last job-- no, don't ask the name of it, I won't tell. So on to the rest of the story... to come here after so long wishing for it, especially after such a horrible place to work last time, it's been such a blessing.

I get to work the hours I prefer, I have Fridays off even though I'm considered full-time, and I get to work with some of my favorite people every day! And with that, it's time to go home...
