Dreaming of a White Christmas

Christmas MantleWell, Thanksgiving has come and gone, and it was relaxing, quiet, and lovely. We've been decorating for Christmas for the past couple days now, and I think it's finally done.

Ever since we first saw the house we now call home, I've been planning and dreaming of where the Christmas tree would go, how the outside lights would look, and where everything else would go. Now that the moment is finally here, I am certainly enjoying it!

Husband and I have always wished we had a true fireplace mantle to hang the stockings, and we finally have one. We are so thankful, and don't they look great?!

One more day...

Well, Hubby and I are in dire need of a vacation. Fortunately with Thanksgiving right around the next corner, we are one day away from said vacation! After I leave work today, I'm a free woman, and he's a free man! We are so excited we're giddy! This of course means there is much work to be done today, and many loose ends to be tied up in pretty bows before we head out until we return hopefully rested and relaxed and recovered next Tuesday! Yippee!

Happy Thanksgiving! :-)

Not so quick a fix

I hate when something is supposed to work and doesn't. I guess I'm one of the few this solution didn't work for, even temporarily, but now I have to deal with the aftermath and take care of it the right way afterall. I guess this will work out better in the long run.

In other news... 10 years is a long time to be with one person nowadays, but we're still having a blast and Husband is still my best friend! Happy ten yesterday CC! Thank you for my crossword puzzle! I loved it! And I love YOU!

arrow.jpgIt's great when things come into the open and change can occur for the better for the health of the relationship.

I praise the Lord and am very thankful for the opportunity to be blessed with these friendships.

christmas-ornament.jpgI found out yesterday that our service project is during the Christmas parade, so we'll miss watching the Christmas parade on tv this year (at least live, since they replay it a thousand times).

I'm pretty bummed since seeing the parade (in person or on tv) has become a tradition of sorts over the past several years. It's always when I do my first Christmas baking and I try to start decorating the house for Christmas (as early as it is).

So I'm bummed we'll miss it, but I am happy about hanging out with the small group. Like I said, bittersweet.

Fall Lake PathFall has been so perfect this year. As my favorite season, I have high expectations each year that all the leaves will turn absolutely gorgeous colors, then fall so I can go around stomping and crunching on a colorful carpet of leaves. Each year lately has gotten better, but this year has been just wonderful!

It's been chilly and colorful and the leaves have been falling steadily to form a lovely carpet of color, just as I hoped. With the holidays just around the corner, it can only get better...
