The Dark Side

Today CC switched to the Dark Side. He's been thinking of it for a few months, and today he made it official. We are now the proud owners of a gas grill. Last week we had a yard sale where he moved toward the Dark Side by selling his charcoal grill. That was a BIG deal. He's almost got this beast put together, and I for one can't wait to see how short an amount of time it will be until we're having grilled chicken for dinner. The verdict is still out on the taste; but if the grilled chicken at Dave's two weeks ago is any indication, we should be good to go.

Elucidate, vacillate, and more -ates

I love big words. Not just big words, but uncommonly used big words. I don't like them because some people think they make you sound snobby or smarter-- I honestly like how they sound when you say them. And me being the grammar/punctuation nazi some think me to be, I love how they spell too. :-)

The curse is broken!

We finally got away for a vacation-- we've been trying for a couple years now, and every time in the past one or both of us has been sick and not able to go. This year we finally made it! Woohoo!

Highlights from our vacation:

  • Visiting Dave & Merrill (and Bear!)

  • Nashville in general is a place we love

  • IKEA!!!

  • 32 types of Coca-Cola from all over the world (N-A-S-T-Y! for most of them)

  • NOT the prime rib, but the winking pepper was funny!

  • The road trips we take tend to be some of God's best handiwork (and the most beautiful)

  • Movies, movies, and more movies

  • Amazing times of worship

  • Cracker Barrel

  • Wii Fit

  • House

  • My mysterious allergic reaction resulting in some 'Angelina Jolie' lips

  • Susan Day-- whatever I wanted us to do

  • CC Day-- whatever CC wanted us to do

  • I finally got to the downtown Summer farmers' market-- yay!

  • Fun times with friends

All good

So I know I haven't written in a while, but my life is still very much a blessed one. Our friends right now are such a blessing and such a HUGE part of our lives-- God sure does know what He's doing, doesn't He? We love them like family, and we're having the time of our lives right now.

Speaking of which, Congrats to the Johnsons!
