Usually we don't celebrate V-Day, as I like to call it. We feel loved throughout the year and don't really look for specific reasons to celebrate. This year was a bit different, in that with CC's promotion requiring him to be at work more often, and the busyness that is my schedule at work, we just haven't spent much time together recently, which we hate.
So this year, I asked for us to celebrate. No gifts or anything major, but just time together and cards being exchanged.
I can't remember if I mentioned that to celebrate our debt reduction over the past six months, we had planned to go to the Melting Pot for a big fancy fun night out. Well it hadn't happened until the other night, and we just rolled V-Day into it. Let's celebrate three (2 debts paid off + V-Day) reasons instead of just the one!
This past Monday we went to the Melting Pot for dinner, which was amazing! I had to turn off my flash since folks were sitting right behind CC, but hopefully you can at least get a gist of what we ate and how it was and what we looked like and basically, how excited we were.
And as I mentioned, here's us. I am busting with excitement at this point (Can you tell? Sorry again it's so stinkin' grainy and dark.).
We had an absolutely fantastic experience. Our waiter, Terence, was incredibly amazing, the food was divine, and the chocolate was... well, let's put it this way... I'll be eating it daily in Heaven. Yep.
It was also our first time ever eating lobster (because who wants to pay that much for something you're not sure you'll actually like?!). Since it came with the meal, we were thrilled to finally try it. Verdict?! It's expensive so of course we both loved it. Especially drowned in butter. Oh the goodness!
The manager came by while we were eating to welcome us and give me a pink rose. So fun!
On the actual day of love, Tuesday, we made dinner at home (buffalo chicken sandwiches!) and watched tv in our jammies with our favorite frozen yogurt CC got on his way home from work- cake batter flavor! Yummy! I of course had to add chocolate- cherry M&Ms and regular M&Ms. Because that's how I roll. It did turn my ice cream a fun color of pink. The cupcake below was from a coworker. Yummy!
We had a lovely couple of days together, just reconnecting and eating the deliciousness. If it's like this all the time, we'll have to celebrate from now on.
